Risk taking under uncertainty: fragility in strategic planning

Abstract:

Diplomová práce představuje a využívá teorii fragility a černých labutí Nassima Taleba, s použitím behaviorální školy rozhodování, jako pomůcku pro zlepšení strategického plánování. Toho je dosaženo uvedením teorie fragility do vědecké diskuze v rozhodovací teorii mezi normativní a behaviorální školou. Výstupem textu je syntéza rad pro vyvarování se zkreslení v rozhodování z behaviorální školy a rad, jak zabránit fragilitě. Tato syntéza je zjednodušena a zhuštěna skrze heuristiky cílící na využití v praxi při strategickém plánování, se kterou aktér výrazně omezí riziko vzniku černých labutí.

Abstract:

Thesis presents, criticizes and uses theory of fragility and black swans by Nassim Taleb and enhances it with the aid from behavioral decision making school to make a tool for improving strategic planning process. This is achieved by seating the theory of fragility into the scientific decision making discussion between the normative and the behavioral school. Synthesis of the provided advices by behavioral school and by Taleb is the outcome of the thesis. From this core, author assembled a basic heuristic tool to improve the decision making process, which should lessen the danger of black swan events.
