Abstract:

Magisterská práce Ošklivost v dekadenci se zabývá dekadencí jako estetickým fenoménem v literatuře druhé poloviny 19. století a v současném umění. Zásadní je pro práci vztah dekadence a ošklivosti. Dekadence je nahlížena jako jedna z kontinuálních vlastností moderního umění spojující tvorbu časově vzdálených tvůrců napříč médii. Metoda zkoumání předpokládá rozbor děl a estetiky vybraných autorů obou období ve vztahu ke sdíleným tématům. Záměrem je dospět ke komplexnější charakteristice estetické dekadence daných období a jejich kritická reflexe.

Abstract:

Master's thesis The Ugliness in Decadence deals with decadence as an aesthetic phenomenon in the literature of the second half of the 19th century and in contemporary art. The relation of decadence to ugliness is examined as crucial. Decadence is viewed as one of the continuous characteristics of modern art linking arts across the media and time. The method of examination presupposes an analysis of the works and aesthetics of selected authors of both periods in relation to shared topics. The intention is to achieve a more complex characteristic of aesthetic decadence of given periods and their critical reflection.
