Abstract:

Tato práce analyzuje jedinečně identifikované referenty a jejich diskurzivní role v novinových článcích. Práce byla rozdělena do dvou větších částí. První část poskytla teoretický rámec pro analýzu diskurzu, popis reference a také poskytla krátký popis diskurzivních rolí referencí. Analytická část pak představila analýzu. Korpus pro analýzu se skládal z deseti novinových článků, v nichž byly zkoumány jedinečné reference a na základě jejich funkce v kontextu jim byla přiřazena role. Práce navrhla pět diskurzivních rolí: foundational (základní), elaborative (rozvíjející), illustrative (ilustrativní), circumstantial (okolnostní) a evidential (dokazující). Bylo zjištěno, že foundational role je nejméně frekventovaná, ale kvůli počtu zmínek v textu nejdůležitější. Nejčastěji se vyskytovala elaborative role, která byla nejvíce zastoupena určitými jmennými frázemi. Illustrative role byla třetí nejčastější a byla zastoupena nejvíce vlastními jmény. Circumstantial role byla druhá nejčastější a vyjadřovala převážně názvy lokalit.

Abstract:

The thesis analyses uniquely identified referents and their discursive roles in newspaper articles. The thesis was divided into two parts. The first one provided a theoretical framework for discourse analysis and described discourse, reference, and the limited theory of discourse roles of referents. The analytical part provided the analysis. Ten newspaper articles were used for the corpus for analysis and their unique referents were examined and assigned a role based on their function in the context. Five discursive roles were proposed by the thesis: foundational, elaborative, illustrative, circumstantial, and evidential. It was determined that the foundational role was the least frequent, but most important due to its number of mentions in the text. The elaborative role was the most frequent and represented most by definite noun phrases. The illustrative role was the third most frequent and represented most by proper nouns. The circumstantial role was the second most frequent and expressed mostly names of locations
