The Role of Small Breweries for Microregion

Abstract:

Popularita a počet malých pivovarů na našem území v minulých letech značně vzrostla. Pivovary se mnohdy zejména v menších obcích staly centrem kulturního dění a jsou přínosem pro jejich okolí. Z těchto důvodů bylo jako téma této diplomové práce zvoleno zkoumání malých pivovarů a jejich dopad na okolí, konkrétně na mikroregion. Cílem práce je: „Analýza významu malých pivovarů pro zaměstnanost, sociální fungování komunity a vzájemná spolupráce minipivovarů s obcemi ve vybraných mikroregionech.“ Pro výzkum byla využita kvalitativní metoda sběru dat, kdy bylo formou případové studie analyzováno fungování osmi malých pivovarů ve čtyřech mikroregionech. Rozhovory jsou zpracovány do tří hlavních tematických okruhů. První téma se věnuje přínosu malých pivovarů z ekonomického a sociálního hlediska a dále zapojení minipivovaru do cestovního ruchu dané oblasti. Druhým tématem je spolupráce malých pivovarů s obcemi. Poslední téma se věnuje aktuálnímu fungování malých pivovarů v letech 2020 a 2021 a reakci minipivovarů na restriktivních opatření přijatá v souvislosti se zdravotní krizí pandemie covid-19. Nejvýznamnějším závěrem případové studie je demonstrace fungující spolupráce mezi malým pivovarem a obcí, která byla vysledována u několika pivovarů zapojených do výzkumu. Studie ukazuje oboustranně výhodný vztah obce a malého pivovaru, ze kterého profitují obě zapojené strany.

Abstract:

The popularity and the number of small breweries in our territory has grown a lot in recent years. Especially in smaller villages, the brewery is a center of cultural events and an asset for the surrounding area. Therefore, the topic of this thesis was chosen to investigate small breweries and their impact on the surrounding area, specifically on the microregion. The aim of the thesis is: „Analysis of the importance of small breweries for employment, social functioning of the community and mutual cooperation of microbreweries with municipalities in selected microregions." A qualitative method of data collection was used for the research. The functioning of 8 small breweries in 4 micro-regions was analysed in the form of a case study. The interviews are elaborated into 3 main thematic areas. The first topic focuses on the economic and social benefits of small breweries and the involvement of microbreweries in the tourism of the area. The second theme is the cooperation between small breweries and municipalities. The last theme focuses on the actual functioning of small breweries in 2020 and 2021 and the response of microbreweries to the restrictive measures taken in the context of the health crisis of the covid-19 pandemic. The most significant conclusion of the case study is the demonstration of a functioning collaboration between a small brewery and a municipality, which was traced in several breweries involved in the research. The study demonstrates a win-win relationship between the municipality and the small brewery that benefits both parties involved.
