EU Consumer Protection Policy

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o ochraně spotřebitele v Evropské unii, důraz je kladen na hmotně-právní úpravu. Úvodní části jsou věnovány stěžejním pojmům a stručnému vývoji ochrany spotřebitele. Shrnuty jsou následně nejdůležitější právní předpisy na úrovni primárního i sekundárního práva. Závěrečná část se zabývá konkrétní oblastí právní regulace, kterou je spotřebitelský úvěr. Tato část je pojmuta jak z pohledu de lege lata, tak z pohledu de lege ferenda a je doplněna o praktický pohled na implementaci regulace.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with consumer protection in the European Union, the emphasis is on substantive legislation. Initial parts are devoted to core terms and brief development of consumer protection, followed by the summary of the most important legislation in both primary and secondary law. The final section discusses specific area of legal regulation, which is the consumer credit. This part is discussed in terms of both de lege lata and in terms of de lege ferenda and is complemented by a practical view of the implementation of the regulation.
