Analysis of the third pillar of the pension system in the Czech republic

Abstract:

Důchodový systém České republiky je postaven na dvou pilířích. I. pilíř tvoří povinné důchodové pojištění a III. dobrovolné penzijní spoření. Zavedení II. pilířecíleného na zefektivnění doplňkového penzijního spoření nepřineslo velké ohlasy a tento pilíř musel být po velmi krátké době zrušen. III. pilíř tak stále zůstal oblíbenoustátem podporovanou formou spoření tvořící samostatnou část našeho důchodového systému. Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na detailní analýzu III. pilíře, vyhodnocenívýhodnosti spoření v penzijních fondech pro jednotlivé věkové kategorie a zhodnocení celkové efektivity celého systému. Hlavním cílem práce je tedy analyzovat výkonnost penzijních fondů na českém trhu, zhodnotit výsledky penzijních společností a poskytnout investiční doporučení potenciálním klientům ve třech věkových kategoriích. V závěrečné části práce jsou zhodnoceny celkové nedostatky III. pilíře a navrhnuto možné řešení těchto nedostatků.

Abstract:

The pension system of the Czech Republic is based on two pillars. The first pillar that consists of compulsory pension insurance and the third pillar that consists of supplementary pension savings. The instruction of the second pillar that aimed at making supplementary pension savings to be more efficient did not bring much response and after very short time this pillar had to be abolished. Therefore, the third pillar remained as a popular state-supported form of savings that creates a separate part of our pension system. The bachelor thesis is focused on a detailed analysis of the third pillar, the evaluation of the profitability of the savings in pension funds for individual age categories and the evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the entire system. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the performance of pension funds on the Czech market, evaluate the results of pension companies and provide investment recommendations to potential clients in three age categories. In the final part of the thesis, there are evaluated overall shortcomings of the third pillar and recommendations for possible solutions of these shortcomings.
