On Cognitive Synonymy (A Case Study)
Abstract:
The thesis deals with the cognitive synonymy of a selected group of English adjectives (fast, quick and rapid). Special attention is paid to the collocational possibilities of the selected adjectives and to the difference in their use. The analysis is based on the British National Corpus.
