Developing Countries and Dispute Settlement within the WTO

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je posoudit postavení rozvojových zemí při řešení sporů při Světové obchodní organizaci a jejich dopad na tyto země. Představen je postup řešení sporů ve Světové obchodní organizaci, dále je nastíněna problematika nejednotného členění rozvojových a nejméně rozvinutých zemí, která znesnadňuje přístup k této specifické skupině světové ekonomiky. Uvedena je klasifikace nejvýznamnějších světových organizací jako Mezinárodní měnový fond nebo také Světová banka. V další části je věnována pozornost jejich postavení vzhledem k nadnárodním organizacím jako je Světová obchodní organizace anebo Evropská unie. Jsou zde nastíněny preferenční vztahy a výhody poskytované rozvinutými zeměmi. Na základně teoretické části je praktická část práce věnována posouzení postavení těchto zemí v rámci řešení mezinárodních obchodních sporů při Světové obchodní organizaci a jsou nastíněny jak pozitivní, tak negativní dopady řešení těchto sporů.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the position of developing and least developed countries among the dispute settlement in World trade organization and to review the impact on these countries. There is presented process of dispute settlement making by the World Trade Organization, then is outlined the problematics of non-united classification of developing and least developed countries, which make it even harder to approach this specific group of world economics. There is also mentioned the most important classification of international organizations such as International monetary fund or World bank. In the next section the attention is paid to the position of these countries due to international organizations such as World trade organization or European union. In this part are outlined preferential regimes given to these countries by developed countries. Based on the theoretical part, the practical part of the thesis is focused on assessment of the position of these countries in the international trade dispute settlement by the World trade organization and there is finally suggested positive and negative impact of the dispute settlement.
