Cancer Patients' Awareness of the Implanted Venous Port

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je informovanost onkologických pacientů o implantovaném venózním portu. Teoretická část práce obsahuje informace o portu a cílem je seznámení se základními poznatky. V praktické části je zjišťována informovanost onkologických pacientů o portu pomocí anonymního dotazníkového šetření. Cílem dotazníkového šetření praktické části je zjistit, zda mají onkologičtí pacienti se zavedeným portem dostatek informací o portu a zda jsou dostatečně informováni zdravotnickým personálem. Praktická část měla další dva cíle, a to vytvoření doporučení pro praxi a návrh informačního letáku pro pacienty s portem. Výsledky dotazníku ukazují, že onkologičtí pacienti se zavedeným venózním portem mají o tomto systému dostatek informací a jsou dostatečně informováni zdravotnickým personálem. Součástí praktické části je diskuze, kde jsou porovnávány výsledky této práce s výsledky jiných prací na podobné téma. V doporučení pro praxi jsou shrnuty základní body týkající se informování pacientů o portu.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the cancer patients´ awareness of the implanted venous port. The theoretical part of the thesis contains information about the venous access port and the aim is to give basic information. In the practical part there is used a questionnaire to get the data of the awareness of cancer patients of the venous access port. The aim of the questionnaire survey is to find out whether oncology patients with an implanted venous access port have enough information about the venous access port and whether they are well informed by medical staff. The practical part had two other goals, namely the creation of recommendations for practice and the design of an information leaflet for patients with venous access port. The results of the questionnaire show that oncology patients with implanted venous access port have enough information about the system and are well informed by medical staff. The practical part includes a discussion where the results of this paper are compared with the results of similar studies. The recommendations for practice summarise the basic facts regarding giving patients information about the venous access port.
