Proposal of an axle stabilizer for truck vehicles

Abstract:

Závodní automobily na Rallye Dakar často dosahují po nezpevněných cestách svých maximálních konstrukčních rychlostí, proto je jednou z jejich nejdůležitějších vlastností jízdní stabilita. Práce se zabývá (i) návrhem konstrukce stabilizátoru zadní nezávisle zavěšené nápravy závodního nákladního automobilu Tatra Phoenix upravovaného týmem Buggyra Racing, (ii) výběrem vhodných materiálů jednotlivých komponent a (iii) kontrolou vybraných komponent a jejich dílčích částí na pevnost a únavu. Stabilizátor byl v rámci práce realizován a testován na kvalitu použitých materiálů a svarových spojů. Stabilizátor, po jeho montáži na závodní automobil, byl podroben kontrolnímu měření, které vyhodnotilo pozitivně jeho funkčnost a naplnění zadaných podmínek. V závěru práce byly zhodnoceny dosažené výsledky po praktickém otestování na Rallye Dakar 2017.

Abstract:

Since racing vehicles, designed for Rallye Dakar and exposed to unpaved roads, frequently reach their construction speed limits, a driving stability is their crucial feature. The work deals with (i) a construction proposal of an independent rear axle stabilizer from the racing truck vehicle Tatra Phoenix modified by Buggyra Racing Team; (ii) a selection of suitable materials used for particular components; and (iii) the strength and fatigue testing of the selected components and their sub-parts. Within the work, quality tests of welding joints and materials used were performed over the made stabilizer. The stabilizer was installed and successfully tested in the racing vehicle. The end of the work belongs to the final discussion of the achieved results after Rallye Dakar 2017 where the stabilizer was used.
