Abstract:

V diplomové práci na téma Richard Krautheimer (1897-1994) se zabývám životem a tvorbou tohoto historika dějin umění a také jeho vlivem na vývoj dějin umění a to převážně architektury. První část věnuji jeho životu v Německu a následné nucené emigraci do USA kvůli Krautheimerově židovskému původu, jeho pobytu v Americe a také jeho pozdějšímu působení v Římě v Bibliotheca Hertziana. Další část pojednává o Krautheimerově metodě a vlivu amerického prostředí na ni. Nakonec se věnuji Krautheimerově díle, jímž strávil téměř 50 let, a tedy pětidílnému svazku Corpus basilicarum christianarum Romae.

Abstract:

Thesis, Richard Krautheimer (1897-1994), deals with the life and work of this art historian and his influence on the development of the history of art, mostly history of architecture. The first part is devoted to his life in Germany and subsequent forced emigration to the USA due to Krautheimer ´s Jewish descent. It also describes his stay in America and his later stay in Rome in the Bibliotheca Hertziana. The next part discusses Krautheimer ´s method and the influence of American environment on his work. Finally, I focus on Krautheimer ´s work, which had occupied him for nearly 50 years. It is five volumes of Corpus basilicarum christianarum Romae
