Landscape of the Kružberk reservoir - habitats and rare taxa in the context of the history of botanical research

Abstract:

Tato rešeršní bakalářská práce je založena na syntéze informací o krajině vodní nádrže Kružberk. Krajina je z velké části tvořena lesy a polokulturními loukami. Hojná lesní a luční společenstva od 50. let 20. století do současnosti prošla částečnou proměnou. Hlavními příčinami změn lesní vegetace, jimiž jsou primárně bukové lesy, je intenzivní těžba a převod na monokultury smrku (Picea abies) a modřínu (Larix decidua), která probíhala již v 50. letech 20. století. V případě lučních společenstev zde byly v této době hojné podmáčené rašelinné a ostřicové louky a také mezofilní polokulturní a kulturní louky. Na území nádrže bylo v 50. letech 20. století provedeno několik botanických výzkumů, které se zaměřovaly na místní flóru a vegetaci a poskytly informace o jejím stavu v raných fázích výstavby nádrže. Zdejší krajina je také zajímavá výskytem 68 vzácných druhů na více než 220 historicky zaznamenaných lokalitách. Nálezy jsou soustředěny především na stráních a loukách, nebo na vlhkých stanovištích blízko vodní nádrže. Nejvzácnějšími druhy historicky nalezenými na území byly například Anacamptis morio, Centunculus minimus nebo Antenaria dioica.

Abstract:

This research thesis is based on the synthesis of information about the landscape of the Kružberk reservoir. The landscape is largely composed of forests and semi-cultivated meadows. The abundant forest and meadow communities have undergone a partial transformation from the 1950s to the present. The main causes of the changes in forest vegetation, which are primarily beech forests, are intensive logging and conversion to monocultures of spruce (Picea abies) and larch (Larix decidua), which took place as early as the 1950s. In the case of grassland communities, wet peat and sedge meadows were abundant at this time, as well as mesophilic semi-cultivated and cultivated meadows. Several botanical surveys were carried out in the reservoir area in the 1950s, focusing on the local flora and vegetation and providing information on its condition in the early stages of reservoir construction. The local landscape is also of interest for the occurrence of 68 rare species at more than 220 historically recorded sites. The records are mainly concentrated on hillsides and meadows, or in wet habitats close to the reservoir. The rarest species historically found in the area were, for example, Anacamptis morio, Centunculus minimus or Antenaria dioica.
