Linear drawing in animation movie

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je lineární kresba v animovaném filmu. Zabývám se vykreslením charakteru pomocí jednoduché linky a podobnými principy práce s linií. Uvádím několik příkladů jak z dějin světové animované tvorby, tak z děl ze současnosti a ke každému uvádím vlastní poznatky. Vybírám filmy od tvůrců zahraničních, ale také českých. Zkoumám, jakou v nich má linie funkci, jakým způsobem ji autor využívá a čím bylo jeho pojetí osobité. Uvádím také obecný význam lineární kresby jako výtvarného prostředku. Zabývám se ale především linií v animovaném filmu, která je používána k vykreslení postav a prostředí, nikoli linií spojenou s abstraktním umění. Cílem mé práce je rozebrat jednotlivá díla a zjistit nejen kolik možností zpracování linie nabízí, ale také stanovit, kteří z umělců byli svým pojetím linie specifičtí a stali se tak pro vývoj výtvarné složky animovaného filmu zásadními. Dalším cílem této práce je uvědomit si, že i při zachycení pohybu prostou linií, může mít film mnoho zajímavých a novátorských možností pojetí. V poslední části této práce uvádím souhrn charakteristických znaků pro filmový žánr grotesky v animovaném filmu. A to hlavně ve výtvarné složce. Dále zde rozebírám vlastní absolventský film. Zaměřuji se především na výtvarné řešení, pro které jsem zvolila právě lineární kresbu. Součástí je také ukázka obrázkového scénáře, výtvarné návrhy a animovaný film ve 2D rozlišení.

Abstract:

The subject of this bachelor thesis is linear drawing in animated film. I deal with rendering of the character using simple lines and similar principles of working with a line. Here are some examples of both the history of world animation and the works of the present, for all of which I present my own knowledge. I select films from foreign and Czech filmmakers. I look at the function of the line, the way the author uses it and the individual's notion. I also mention the general meaning of linear drawings as an art tool. I deal primarily with the line in animated film which is used to portray characters and environments rather than lines associated with abstract art. The aim of the thesis is to analyse individual pieces and to find out not only the number of possibilities of line processing, but also to determine which of the artists were specific with their lines and thus became essential for the development of the art component of the animated film. Another aim of this work is to realize that when capturing motion by a simple line, the film can have many interesting and innovative concepts of conception. In the last part of this paper I present a summary of characteristic features for the film genre of grotesque in animated film. And especially in the art folder. I also discuss my graduate film here. I focus mainly on the artwork, for which I chose linear drawing. Also included is a sample of screenplay, art designs, and animation in 2D resolution.
