Modification of filler surface and behavior of compounds

Abstract:

Rozvoj minerálnych plnív ako prísad do gumárenských zmesí sa začal už pred viac ako storočím. Od počiatočnej éry keď minerálne plnivá slúžili predovšetkým pre zlacnenie gumárenských výrobkov sme sa posunuli do obdobia keď pomocou plnív a ich modifikáto-rov sme schopní zabezpečiť i vyššie požiadavky kladené na spracovateľské a fyzikálne vlastnosti gumárenských zmesí. Cieľom tejto práce je posúdiť zmeny chovania povrchu plnív vplyvom modifikátorov a nájsť možnosti jednoduchej charakterizácie povrchovo modifikovaných minerálnych plnív pre gumárenské zmesi. Teoretická časť práce charakterizuje základné vlastnosti, spôsoby a možnosti modifikácie plnív. Následne pojednáva o vhodnosti použitia metódy stanovenia viskozity ich disperzie. Praktická časť zoznamuje s výsledkami výskumu merania pomocou metódy viskozity dis-perzie minerálnych plnív a jej vhodnosti pre konkrétne uplatnenie v gumárenskom priemysle ako prvotnej skúšky pre určenie vlastností plniva.

Abstract:

The development of mineral fillers as an element of rubber compounds, began more than one hundred years ago. From the initial time when the fillers where used mainly for their costs we moved now to the period when the fillers and modifiers ensure the higher quality demands of finished rubber products. The basis of this thesis is to review a change of fillers surface behaviours under modifiers influence, and to find the possibilities of easy char-acterization of surface modified mineral fillers used in rubber compounds. Theoretical part describes basic properties of fillers, ways and options of fillers modifica-tion. And subsequently concerns about the suitability of determination of dispersion vis-cosity method of these fillers. Practical part appraises the research results which were realized by viscosity dispersion of mineral fillers method, and its suitability for particular use in rubber industry, as a primary trial for character of filler determination.
