Light creation process in public space

Abstract:

Diplomová práce popisuje, analyzuje a identifikuje městské světelné prvky; zejména statické pouliční osvětlení, dynamické reklamní osvětlení, projekce a tvůrčí světelné festivaly. Právě světelná show, jako jsou světelné instalace a videomapping představují stať mé práce. Nejdříve se práce zabývá jednotlivými zdroji světla a osvětlení a jejich vlivem na noční město a městskou krajinu. Dále přehledně mapuje české světelné festivaly s důrazem na festival Signal. Porovnáním rozhovorů s kompetentními osobami a výročními zprávami Signal festivalu a také výročními zprávami Magistrátu hl. m. Prahy a ekonomickou zprávou Signal festivalu za rok 2016 práce zkoumá postup realizace festivalu, jeho financování a ekonomický dopad. Výsledky studie byly porovnány s kvantitativním dotazníkovým šetřením 129 náhodných respondentů.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis describes, analyses and identifies urban light elements; especially static street lights, dynamic advertisement lights, projections and creative light festivals. Light show such as light installations and videomapping are the core of my thesis. The first part contains individual sources of light and lighting and their impact on the city and urban landscape. Firstly, this thesis contains individual sources of light and lighting and their influence on the night city and urban landscape. Next part is a clear definition of Czech light festivals with emphasis on the Signal festival. By comparing interviews with competent persons with the annual report of the festival and annual reports of the City Hall of Prague and the economic report of the Signal festival for 2016, the thesis examines the process of implementation of the festival, its financing and economic impact. The results of the study were compared with a quantitative questionnaire survey of 129 random respondents.
