New generation library platform as a tool for centralization of information institutions in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá implementací systémů pod projektem CARDS od Národní technické knihovny do českých vědecko-vzdělávacích institucí. V teoretické části se práce zaměří na charakteristiku systémů a služeb, které využívají české vědecko-vzdělávací instituce a knihovny v akademické sféře. V části druhé se bakalářská práce zaměří na kvalitativní výzkum s rozhovory a zaměří se na spektrum mezi třemi dílčími stranami implementace PNG, těmi je akademická a knihovní sféra, národní sféra a pohled ze strany IT administrátorů. Výsledky, byť kvalitativního výzkumu, ukazují výhody vycházející z implementace a hypotézy pro budoucí kvantitativní poimplementační výzkumy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis will analyse the implementation of systems under the CARDS project from the National Technical Library to Czech scientific and educational institutions. In the theoretical part, the work will focus on the characteristics of systems and services used by Czech scientific and educational institutions and libraries in the academic sphere. In the second part, the bachelor thesis will focus on qualitative research using interviews and will examine the spectrum between the three sub-sides of the implementation of PNG, which are the academic and library sphere, the national sphere, and the view from an IT administrators. The results of a qualitative research, show advantages based on the New generation platform’s implementation and the forms of hypothesis for future quantitative and implementation research.
