Deep Sternal Wound Infections after Cardiac Surgery

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem "Hluboké sternální infekce po kardiochirurgických operačních výkonech" se věnuje hlubokým sternálním infekcím a podtlakové terapii. Teoretická část je věnována sternální infekci, klasifikaci sternální infekce, riziku vzniku sternální infekce, preventivním opatřením a ošetřovatelským intervencím v souvislosti se sternotomií. Podstatná část práce je také věnována podtlakové terapii v kardiochirurgii. Praktická část práce využívá smíšeného designu výzkumu. Při zpracování praktické části práce byla využita kvantitativní obsahová analýza zdravotnické dokumentace, která byla doplněna kvalitativní analýzou významu a vyhodnocena pomocí induktivní statistiky. Cíle práce jsou stanoveny v několika rozdílných rovinách. Jedna z rovin je zaměřena cíleně na pacienta a druhá cílí na faktory ovlivňující průběh hlubokých sternálních infekcí, léčbu a případné komplikace. Výstupem práce je edukační materiál určený pro informovanost pacientů po kardiochirurgickém operačním výkonu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis "Deep Sternal Wound Infections after Cardiac Surgery" deals with deep sternal wound infections and vacuum therapy. The theoretical part consists of: sternal infection, classification of sternal infection, risk of sternal infection, preventative measures and nursing interventions related to the sternotomy. A substantial part of the thesis is devoted to negative pressure wound therapy in cardiac surgery. The practical part of the thesis includes a mixed design research. During the elaboration of the practical part of the thesis, a quantitative content analysis of data obtained from medical records was used, which is completed by a qualitative analysis of the content and analysed by inductive statistics. The aims of the thesis are divided into several different levels. The first level is dedicated to the patients and the second one to the factors affecting the course of deep sternal wound infections, treatment and complications. The thesis outcome is an education leaflet to be used for the improvement in education of the patients after cardiac surgery procedures.
