Management of Vocal Groups in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o vokálních skupinách v České republice a jejich managementu. Teoretická část vymezuje pojem „vokální skupina“ a další termíny neoddělitelně spjaté s touto specifickou hudební formací. Dále nastiňuje historický vývoj vokálních skupin ve světě a v Čechách a seznamuje s významnými představiteli. V následujících kapitolách je kladen důraz na seznámení s institucemi spjatými s vokálními skupinami jako jsou festivaly, soutěže, asociace a databáze. Předposlední kapitola teoretické části rozebírá legislativní aspekty fungování vokálních skupin v České republice. Závěr teoretické části uvádí do problematiky managementu, marketingu a financování kulturních organizací. V praktické části jsou analyzovány činnosti čtyř vokálních skupin pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu, konkrétně analýzy polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s manažery těchto těles. Na závěr jsou zodpovězeny výzkumné otázky a formulována některá doporučení do budoucna.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with vocal groups in the Czech Republic and their management. The theoretical part defines the term "vocal group" and other terms inseparably connected with this specific musical formation. Furthermore, it outlines the historical development of vocal groups in the world and in the Czech Republic and introduces important representatives. In the following chapters, emphasis is placed on introducing the institutions associated with vocal groups such as festivals, competitions, associations, and databases. The next chapter of the theoretical part considers the legislative aspects of the functioning of vocal groups in the Czech Republic. The conclusion of the theoretical part introduces the issues of management, marketing, and financing of cultural organisations. The practical part analyses the activities of four vocal groups by using qualitative research, namely the analysis of semi-structured interviews with the managers of these groups. Finally, the research questions are answered and recommendations for the future are provided.
