Sexual dysfunction in climacteric women

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit výskyt sexuálních dysfunkcí u žen v klimakteriu a výskyt sexuálních dysfunkcí u žen před menopauzou za poslední čtyři týdny a identifikovat problémy žen v oblasti sexuálních aktivit. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo celkem 207 respondentek, z toho 41 žena ve věkové kategorii 40 -45 let a ve věkové kategorii 46-50 let 166 žen. K měření sexuálních funkcí byl použit mezinárodní standardizovaný dotazník FSFI ? Female Sexual Function Index ? Index ženských sexuálních funkcí (Rosen et al., 2000), který zjišťuje sexuální funkce u žen za poslední čtyři týdny v oblasti touhy, vzrušení, lubrikace, orgasmu, uspokojení a bolesti. Dotazníkové šetření proběhlo od února 2013 do února 2014 ve třech ostravských gynekologických ambulancích. Výsledky: Klimakterium se signifikantně podílí na celkovém skóre v oblastech touha, vzrušení, lubrikace, orgasmus a uspokojení ve srovnání s ženami před menopauzou. Ženy s podpůrnou hormonální terapií vykazují lepší skóre ve všech doménách. Počet porodů a výška dosaženého vzdělání sexuální funkce významně neovlivňují. Míra bolesti při pohlavním styku nebo sexuálních aktivitách je u žen před menopauzou a po menopauze stejná. Závěr: Klimakterium může svými symptomy ovlivnit život ženy v negativním smyslu. Problémy jsou dobře léčitelné a při včasném zásahu mohou zlepšit kvalitu života v tomto období. Součástí zdravotní péče o ženu by měla být nejen detekce potenciálních problémů, ale i osvěta a edukace jak v primární, tak v následné péči.

Abstract:

Objective: The objective of this research was to find out the occurrence of sexual dysfunctions in women during climacterium and before menopause during the last four weeks and to identify the problems of women in the area of sexual activities. Methodology: The research file included a total of 207 respondents, of which 41 were women in the age category 40 - 45 and 166 were women in the age category 46-50. The sexual function was measured by an international standardized questionnaire ?FSFI - Female Sexual Function Index ? The index of women's sexual functions (Rosen et al., 2000),? which detects sexual functions of women in the last four weeks in the field of desire, excitement, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, and pain. The public opinion survey was conducted February 2013 to February 2014, in the three gynecological offices in Ostrava. Results: Climacterium is a significant factor in the total score in the fields of desire, excitement, lubrication, orgasm and satisfaction comparing to women before menopause. Women with supporting hormone therapy show better scores in all domains. The number of births and the level of education do not significantly affect sexual functions. The level of pain during sexual intercourse or sexual activities is the same for women before and after menopause. Conclusion: Climacterium, with its symptoms, may affect women?s lives in a negative way. The problems are treatable and timely intervention can improve their quality of life in this period. The component of the health care of a woman should not only be detection of potential problems, but also education in primary and in follow-up care, as well.
