Abundance and importance whites of the genus Pieris on Brassicaceae in the Žďárské vrchy Mountains

Abstract:

Předložená bakalářská práce se zabývala monitoringem bělásků rodu Pieris v katastru obce Matějov v Žďárských vrších. Byla pozorována imaga na třech transektech od konce dubna do konce září roku 2023. Byly zjištěny tři druhy bělásků, bělásek zelný (Pieris brassicae), bělásek řepový (Pieris rapae) a bělásek řepkový (Pieris napi). Bylo zaznamenáno celkem 270 jedinců bělásků rodu Pieris. Nejpočetnější byl bělásek řepový (191 jedinců). Dále bylo zaregistrováno 54 jedinců běláska řepkového. Nejnižší početnosti dosáhl bělásek zelný (25 jedinců). Tímto sledováním se potvrdilo, že každý druh obývá a má v oblibě jiné brukvovité rostliny. Jedinci běláska řepkového se zdržovali především v oblastech s volně rostoucími brukvovitými. Jedinci běláska řepového a b. zelného byli nejvíce aktivní na plochách, kde rostly kulturní plodiny (pole, zahrady). Letní (2.) generace byla nejpočetnější u všech druhů bělásků rodu Pieris. V roce 2023 nedosáhl žádný druh běláska škodlivé početnosti.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis dealt with the monitoring of butterflies of the genus Pieris in the cadastral area of the village Matějov in Žďárské vrchy. The butterflies were observed on three transects from the end of April to the end of September of 2023. In this area I observed three species of the Pieris genus: Pieris brassicae, Pieris napi and Pieris rapae. In total, I recorded 267 individuals of the genus Pieris. Pieris rapae was the most abundant (191 individuals), followed by Pieris napi (51 individuals) and Pieris brassicae was the least abundant (25 individuals). This observation confirmed that each species inhabits and prefers different host plants. Individuals of the Pieris napi were most abundant in areas with wild plants. Individuals of Pieris rapae and Pieris brassicae were most active in areas where cultivated crops (fields, gardens) were growing. All three species of the genus Pieris had a more numerous summer (2nd) generation in 2023. No Pieris species reached damaging abundance.
