Brownfield: definition of the concept and its development in the context of urban theory and politics.

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se soustřeďuji na téma definice pojmu brownfield. Brownfield je termín, který je užíván po celém světě a je po každé spojován s trochu jinými místy a následně významy. Cílem mé práce je na základě analýzy české a zahraniční literatury přestavit různé přístupy k tvorbě pojmu, jeho význam a následné použití. Práci jsem rozdělil na tři části. V první části se věnuji ukotvení pojmu brownfield v urbánních sociologických teorií. Využil jsem přístupu dvou urbánních sociologických škola a to školy Chicágské a Los Angeleské. První je zástupcem modernistického a druhá postmodernistického pohledu na město. Vysledoval jsem jejich náhled na danou problematiku a srovnal ho mezi sebou. Ve druhé části své bakalářské práce se věnuji situaci v zahraničí. Vybral jsem si Spojené Státy Americké a Spojené Království. Tyto dvě země mají největší zkušenost s místy označovanými jako brownfield a s definicí na ně navázanou. V této části poukazuji na rozdílnou skladbu definice, která je odrazem rozdílné povahy míst označovaných jako brownfield. Oba přístupy jsem srovnal a poukázal na jejich výhody a nevýhody. Ve třetí části své práce se věnuji České republice, upozorňuji na různorodý vliv zainteresovaných stran na stavbu definice a návrhu definice platné pro ČR. Navržená definice pro pojem brownfield může posloužit jak pro praktické scelení pojmu browfnfield na území ČR tak pro vědce zabývající se problematikou městského prostoru.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis focuses on the topic definition of brownfield. Brownfield is a term that is used throughout the world and after each associated with a slightly different places and subsequently meanings. The goal of my work is based on analysis of Czech and foreign literature readjusted different approaches to the creation of the concept, its importance and subsequent use. I divided into three parts. The first part is devoted to anchor the concept of brownfield urban sociological theories. I used the approach of two urban sociological schools, school of Chicago and of Los Angeles. The first is the representative of modernist and second postmodernist view of the city. I tracked their view on the issue, and compared it with each other. The second part of my thesis is devoted to the situation abroad. I chose the United States and the United Kingdom. These two countries have the most experience with the sites referred to as brownfield and the definition bound to them. In this section points out the different definitions of the composition, this is a reflection of a different nature sites known as brownfields. I compared both approaches and pointed out their advantages and disadvantages. In the third part of this work is devoted to the Czech Republic, highlights the diverse influence stakeholders to build the definition and design of the definitions for the Czech Republic. The proposed definition for the term brownfield can serve both practical unification of concept brownfield in the Czech Republic and scientists dealing with urban space.
