Physiotherapy possibilities in femoroacetabular impingement syndrome patients

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce věnuje pozornost možnostem fyzioterapie u pacientů s femoroacetabulárním impingement syndromem (dále FAI). Smyslem literární části práce je shrnutí dosavadních poznatků o FAI, které dostupná literatura nabízí. Jednotlivé kapitoly jsou zaměřené na anatomii a mechaniku kyčelního kloubu, charakteristiku, výskyt, rozdělení, etiologii, symptomatiku typickou pro FAI, klinické vyšetření, zobrazovací metody a operační řešení pro pacienti s FAI. Praktická část představuje rešerši zaměřenou na konzervativní léčbu FAI, kde se snažím objasnit, jakou pozici zaujímá fyzioterapie v léčbě FAI, jestli konzervativní léčba má vliv na snížení symptomů či představuje stejnou efektivitu v léčbě jako operační řešení. Ze získaných výsledů vyplývá, že konzervativní terapie v rámci fyzioterapie je funkční metodou pro léčbu FAI, která vede ke zvýšení funkce kyčelního kloubu a snížení bolesti. Konzervativní terapie nedosahuje takových výsledků v krátkém časovém úseku jako operační řešení, které má větší úspěšnost ve snižování obtíží, která FAI doprovázení.

Abstract:

This bachelor work pays attention to physiotherapy possibilities in femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAI) patients. The purpose of the literary part of the work is to summarize the existing knowledge about FAI, which the available literature offers. The individual chapters are focused on the anatomy and mechanics of the hip joint, characteristics, occurrence, division, etiology, symptoms typical for FAI, clinical examination, imaging methods, and surgical solutions for patients with FAI. The practical part is research focused on conservative treatment of FAI, where I try to clarify the position of physiotherapy in the treatment of FAI, whether the conservative treatment has the effect of reducing symptoms or represents the same effectiveness in treatment as surgical solutions. The results show that conservative therapy in physiotherapy is a functional method for the treatment of FAI, which leads to increased hip function and reduced pain. Conservative therapy does not achieve such results in a short period of time as a surgical solution that has greater success in reducing the difficulties that accompany FAI.
