Changes of the Czech Philharmonic in the 21st century and the phenomenon of the digital concert hall

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá proměnami České filharmonie v průběhu její existence a fenoménem digitální koncertní síně. Začátek teoretické části práce mapuje historické i současné změny instituce a zohledňuje dopady pandemie koronaviru. Dále jsou objasněna teoretická východiska vztahující se k technologickým inovacím v kultuře a je definován nový fenomén digitální koncertní síně. Následně práce popisuje fungování, business model a ekonomické přínosy platformy Digital Concert Hall Berlínské filharmonie a analyzuje dosavadní postup zprovoznění Digitální koncertní síně České filharmonie. Praktickou část tvoří smíšený výzkum, který se skládá z hloubkového rozhovoru a dotazníkového šetření. Hloubkový rozhovor s představitelem managementu České filharmonie zkoumá dopady koronaviru na instituci, její budoucí směřování a plánovaný rozvoj projektu Digitální koncertní síň. Na závěr jsou představeny výsledky dotazníkového šetření, jehož cílem bylo zjistit, jaký vztah mají studenti Vysoké školy ekonomické k vážné hudbě a zda mají zájem o přístup do platformy Digital Concert Hall.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the changes of the Czech Philharmonic during its existence and with the phenomenon of the digital concert hall. The beginning of the theoretical part of the work maps the historical and current changes in the institution and takes into account the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, the theoretical background related to technological innovations in culture is clarified and a new phenomenon of digital concert hall is defined. Subsequently, the work describes the functioning, business model and economic benefits of the platform Digital Concert Hall of Berlin Philharmonic and analyzes the current process of commissioning the Digitální koncertní síň of the Czech Philharmonic. The practical part consists of mixed research, which consists of an in-depth interview and a questionnaire. An in-depth interview with a representative of the Czech Philharmonic's management examines the impact of coronavirus on the institution, its future direction and the planned development of project Digitální koncertní síň. Finally, the results of a questionnaire are presented, the aim of which was to determine the relationship of students of the University of Economics to classical music and whether they are interested in access to the Digital Concert Hall platform.
