Transformation of rural service infrastructure and adaptation strategies of the local population

Abstract:

Tato práce má za cíl přiblížit čtenáři téma změny dostupnosti komerčních služeb na venkově, a to na příkladu území MAS Svatojiřský les. Práce se skládá z šesti kapitol, z nichž první dvě tvoří teoretickou část práce. Tyto kapitoly jsou zaměřeny na vymezení základních pojmů, tj. venkov, obslužná infrastruktura, komerční služby, venkovské komunity, geografie služeb a popis vývoje komerčních služeb na venkově v 20. a 21. století. Dalším cílem této části je přinést přehled možných způsobů, jak na venkově zajistit či udržet základní občanskou vybavenost, a to i za přispění komunit. Ostatní kapitoly práce se věnují nebo směřují k výzkumu autora. Praktická část práce se tedy pomocí kvalitativní metody polostrukturovaných rozhovorů věnuje některým výše zmíněným tématům. Klade si však také za cíl na zkoumaném území i s pomocí distanční prostorové analýzy popsat současný stav rozmístění služeb, představit adaptační strategie obyvatel na chybějící služby a vyzkoumat různé oblasti komunitního života na venkově, které souvisejí s adaptací na lokální podmínky.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to introduce the topic of changing availability of commercial services in rural areas, on example of the territory of the MAS Svatojiřský les. The thesis consists of six chapters, the first two deal with theoretical part of the thesis. These chapters are focused on defining the basic concepts, i.e. rural areas, service infrastructure, commercial services, rural communities, geography of services and description of the development of commercial services in rural areas in the 20th and 21st centuries. The other thesis deal of this section is to present an overview of possible ways, how provide or maintain basic civil facilities in rural areas, including with the contribution of communities. Other chapters of the thesis are dedicated or directed towards to the author's research. The practical part of this paper is focused on above mentioned topics using the qualitative method of semi-structured interviews. The other deal of practical part is to describe the current state of service distribution in the aforementioned area and, even with the help of distance spatial analysis, to present the ad-aptation strategies of the inhabitants to the lack of services, and to ascertain different areas of community life in rural areas which are related to adaptation of local condi-tions.
