Malárie je celosvětovým problémem, kdy každoročně onemocní 300-500 milionů osob. Přibližně 2,5-3,5 milionů osob umírá a velká část úmrtí připadá na děti. Onemocnění způsobuje malarický parazit Plasmodium spp. Spolehlivá ochrana ve formě antimalarické vakcíny je stále ve vývoji. Malaria still represents a worldwide problem. Each year, there are approximately 300-500 milion cases of malaria, killing between one to three milion people. The vast majority of cases occur in children. Malaria is caused by the malaria parasite Plasmodium spp. New vaccines have been under development for quite a long time already with no completely effective vaccine yet available.
