The ability to recognize rhetological fallacies

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je design experimentu a jeho následné pilotní ověření pro sledování schopnosti rozpoznávat argumentační fauly. Po teoretickém vymezení pojmů týkajících se problematiky argumentačních faulů následuje praktická část, ve které je představen samotný design experimentu. V závislosti na výsledcích první pilotáže se přistoupilo k pilotáži druhé, která odpověděla na otázky týkající se síly argumentačních faulů a vlivu zadání se slovem fér na výsledky rozpoznávání. Na tyto otázky bylo zodpovězeno pomocí úprav původního designu experimentu. Druhá pilotáž ukázala, že se sílou argumentačních faulů se pojí značná subjektivita a bylo by vhodné tuto problematiku dále hlouběji zkoumat. Ukázalo se, že samotné slovo fér má pravděpodobný vliv na výsledky, protože u tohoto zadání byla chybovost o 7,4 % menší než u nového zadání, které bylo formulováno bez slova fér. V závěrečné diskuzi byla navrhnuta doporučení pro zlepšení výsledného designu experimentu.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a design of experiment and its subsequent pilot verification for tracking the ability to recognize rhetological fallacies. After the theoretical definition of concepts related to rhetological fallacies the practical part follows in which the experiment design itself is presented. Depending on the results of the first pilot study the second pilot study was created answering questions about the power of rhetological fallacies and the influence of the assignment with the word fair on the results. These questions were answered by modifying the original design of the experiment. The second pilot study showed that the power of rhetological fallacies depends on considerable subjectivity and it would be advisable to examine this topic further. It turned out that the word fair itself has a likely effect on the results because in this assignment the error rate was 7.4% less than the new assignment which was formulated without a word fair. In the final discussion recommendations were proposed to improve the final design of the experiment.
