Abstract:

Tématem práce je vyjadřování (konkrétních) prostorových vztahů v češtině. Zabývá se větnou sémantikou a její základní teoretické zázemí představuje dvourovinná valenční syntax (Daneš 2002)obohacená o přístupy kognitivní lingvistiky (kognitivní sémantiky). V prvních dvou kapitolách důkladně mapuji (na základě příslušné literatury) doménu prostorových významů; nejprve z hlediska filosofie, poté již na půdě lingvistiky, a to zejména očima kognitivní sémantiky a psycholingvistiky. Následuje exkurz do vývoje valenční teorie, do sémantických výzkumů sloves pohybu a dále vlastní analýza. Zde obohacuji metodologii dvourovinné valenční syntaxe o přístupy kognitivní lingvistiky zapojením postulované konceptuální struktury do analýzy sémantiky věty. Ve struktuře dynamické lokalizace předpokládám prvek LOKOMOCE, který zahrnuje konceptuální prvky POHYB O SOBĚ a DIREKCIONALIZACI. Jim přisuzuji charakter skalárních hodnot v rozmezí <–; +> a spojením dvou na sebe kolmých os představujících tyto škály buduji model vnitřně diferencovaného sémantického pole prostorově usouvztažňujících predikátorů. Jejich klasifikace spočívá v zařazení jednotlivých predikátorů do některé ze čtyř hlavních a pěti pomocných tříd, z nichž každá se vymezuje na základě určité kombinace sledovaných hodnot. Syntaktické chování predikátorů slouží k ověření správnosti jejich klasifikace. Sedmá kapitola se věnuje sémantické klasifikaci predikátorů vyjadřujících statické lokalizace, a to na základě časové charakteristiky lokalizace. Závěr práce tvoří reflexe a zhodnocení rozvinuté metodologie.

Abstract:

In my thesis I am dealing with the expression of (concrete) spatial relationships in Czech. My thesis pertains to the linguistics conceptions concerned with sentence semantics, and its basic theoretical background is represented by two-level valency syntax (Daneš 2002) enriched by approaches of cognitive linguistics (cognitive semantics). In the first two chapters I attempt the thorough mapping of the domain of spatial meanings; at first from the point of view of philosophy and then, already on the grounds of linguistics, mainly through the eye of cognitive semantics and psycholinguistics. After the following overview of the development of valency theory and semantic explorations of motion verbs I devote myself to my proper analysis. I combine the two-level valency syntax methodology with the approach of cognitive linguistics by using postulated conceptual structure in the analysis of sentence semantics. In the structure of dynamic localization, I postulate the element of LOCOMOTION which contains two conceptual elements: MOTION AS SUCH and DIRECTIONALIZATION. I attribute to them the character of scalar values ranging from (-) to (+). Further, by joining two mutually perpendicular axes representing these scalars, I build up a model of internally differentiated semantic field of spatially relating predicators. Their classification consist in the inclusion of individual predicators in some of the four principal classes and five auxiliary classes, each of which is delimited on the basis of certain combination of values observed. The syntactic behaviour of the predicators then serves to the verify of the correctness of their classification. The seventh chapter is devoted to the semantic classification of the predicators expressing static localizations. I carry out this classification on the basis of the temporal characteristics of static localizations. The conclusion of the work represents reflections and the evaluation of the proposed methodology.
