The current state of health systems in the Czech Republic and France and their financing

Abstract:

Zdravotní systém České republiky je ožehavým tématem, které je často diskutováno, zejména jeho finanční stránka. Výdaje na zdravotnictví rostou, a proto se hledají nové možnosti získávání peněz, například větší míra spoluúčasti pacientů. Oproti našemu je francouzský systém zdravotní péče schopen získávat více financí i z jiných zdrojů, než jen z povinného zdravotního pojištění. Cílem bakalářské práce je komparativní analýza francouzského a českého zdravotnického systému z finančního hlediska a z hlediska zdravotního stavu české a francouzské populace. Zahrnuta jsou také základní teoretická východiska zdravotní politiky a popis historického vývoje obou zdravotních systémů, které pomáhají lépe pochopit jejich rozdílnost. Na základě porovnání studovaných systémů jsou navržena doporučení pro Českou republiku, především v oblasti nabývání dodatečných zdrojů.

Abstract:

Health care system of Czech Republic (CR) is a delicate issue which is often talked about, especially its financial aspects. Health expenditures are growing, that is why new possibilities of drawing money, such as the elevated degree of patient co payments, are search for. Contrary to CR system, the French health care system is able to gather more funding from other sources than from the compulsory health insurance only. The aim of this bachelor thesis is the comparative analysis of French and Czech health care systems from both the financial point of view and in light of the health state of the Czech and French population. The theoretical basis of health policy and a description of the historical development of both health systems are included to help understand their differences. Based on the comparison of the systems under the study, the recommendations for Czech Republic are proposed, mainly in the field of acquiring additional resources.
