The Typology of Female Characters in the Drama of Heinrich von Kleist

Abstract:

In my thesis I will discuss the typology of female characters in the drama of the German author Heinrich von Kleist. I analyzed ten female characters of six dramas by Heinrich von Kleist, whereas I have purposely left out Hermannsschlacht“ and „Robert Guiskard“. In the charter about biography of Heinrich von Kleist I include a short overview of the life Heinrich von Kleists and even of his love life, that had influence on his literary production and female characters of them. For each drama I have included a discussion of the selected piece and the typology of the female characters (in the case of „Der zerbrochene Krug”, „Käthchen von Heilbronn” and „Familie Schroffenstein” I analyzed more female characters). In the last chapter I am dealing with comparison of all female characters.

Abstract:

V mé diplomové práci se zabývám typologií ženských postav v dramatech Heinricha von Kleista. V mé práci popisuji deset ženských postav v šesti dramatech Kleista, přičemž jsem záměrně vynechala „Hermannsschlacht“ a „Robert Guiskard“. V kapitole věnované biografii autora nabízím čtenářům také nahlédnutí do života Heinricha von Kleista, a to i milostného, který měl z velké části vliv na jeho tvorbu dramatických děl, resp. ženských postav, které se v nich objevily. Každé dílo začíná obsahem, dále se zabývám vždy jednou ženskou postavou a v některých případech i vedlejší postavou (v „Rozbitém džbáně“ je to matka Marthe Rull, v „Katynce Heilbronnské“ její protivnice Kunigunde a v případě „Familie Schroffenstein“ se jedná o postavy dvě – Eustache a Gertrude). V poslední kapitole se koncentruji na srovnání vybraných ženských hlavních postav, roli ženských vedlejších postav v díle a jejich vlivem na toto dílo.
