Abstract:

Záměrem mé bakalářské práce bylo nejen prezentovat vlastní osobitý styl kresby, ale zvláště pak vyjádřit podporu mizejícím černobílým fantasy ilustracím v knihách, karetních i deskových hrách, a černobílým kresbám obecně. V praktické části fantasy bestiáře jsem užila techniku tužky a perokresby. Kombinuji zde několik kresebných stylů a nálad. Důležitá je stránka prolínání různě vzdálených rovin a jejich souběžné splývání v jednu, čímž vzniká lehký optický klam. Tyto roviny se dále dělí na tři části: svět spodní, čítající jak život v půdě, tak pod vodou; svět na povrchu, včetně povrchu vodní hladiny; a svět svrchní, kam patří tvorové okřídlení, nebo alespoň žijící v korunách stromů. Celá práce je pak koncipována jako prostorová kresba simulující velkoformátovou knihu – bestiář, čímž se ilustrace současně projevuje jako výtvarný objekt. V teoretické části se věnuji problematice ústupu a zatlačování barevně zdánlivě nepřitažlivého černobílého ilustrování do pozadí grafického a nakladatelského průmyslu, a také samotnému vývoji fantasy motivů a zoomorfní stránce umění napříč historií, až po užití animální fantasy tématiky v současné době.

Abstract:

In the practical part of the fantasy bestiary I used a mixture of pencil/pen and ink techniques. I have combined several drawing styles and moods. An important aspect is the blending of different levels and their fusion into one unified unit, which creates a slight optical illusion. These levels are further divided into three parts: The lower-world, containing both the underwater and underground life; The surface, covering the dry land as well as the wet land; and the upper-world; where the winged creatures belong, or at least those, who live in the treetops. The work itself was conceived as a spatial object mimiking a larg format book – bestiary, which makes the illustration an art object at the same time In the theoretical part I examine the topics of the fading interest of the graphical and publishing industry for the seemingly unapplying black and white illustrations, the development of fantasy motives themselves, the zoomorphic side of art throughout the history and the use of the animal fantasy theme at the present time. The intention of my thesis was not only to present the personal style of drawing, but also to express my support for the disappearing black and white fantasy illustrations in cinematography, books, card and board games, and black and white drawings in general.
