The Theme of Boundary in Literature and Other Sciences

Abstract:

The central idea of this dissertation is to define boundaries in literature and other scientific disciplines whilst the term ''boundaries'' plays the principal role. The first part of this essay will explain this term in details on examples of 20th century German literature. Splitting the whole era into multiple stages such as post-war literature, exile literature and literature of divided Germany, will allow us to understand the sense of boundaries of that time. The last part of this essay takes on the effect of boundaries on selected scientific disciplines such as ethnology, sociology, law or philosophy.

Abstract:

Der Leitgedanken dieser Abschlussarbeit ist ?Das Thema der Grenze in der Literatur und in anderen Fachdisziplinen?. Die Position des zentralen Begriffs übernimmt hier ?die Grenze?. Am Anfang wird sie in der deutschen Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts vorgestellt. Aufgeteilt in mehrere Epochen, wie z.B. die Exilliteratur, die Nachkriegsliteratur, oder die Literatur der deutschen Teilung, wird uns die damalige Wahrnehmung der Barrieren nähergebracht. Der nächste Teil dieser Arbeit widmet sich dann der Grenze in ausgewählten Fachdisziplinen wie z.B. in der Ethnologie, in der Soziologie, im Recht oder in der Philosophie.
