The development potential of tourism in selected destinations of Ústí region

Abstract:

V této diplomové práci se autor zamýšlí nad problémem nedostatečně využitého potenciálu cestovního ruchu v Ústeckém kraji. K ověření této teorie bylo použita metoda kvalitativního výzkumu. Následně byly výzkumné dotazníky vyhodnoceny za pomoci jednoduchých statistických metod. Jejich výsledky jsou v této práci podrobně rozebírány. V analytické části této práce jsou použita data vybraných institucí jako je Český statistický úřad nebo veřejně dostupné statistiky krajských úřadů. Ta posloužila především pro srovnání s ostatními regiony. Autor taktéž vychází z vlastních poznatků získaných častými cestami do tohoto kraje, a to jak pracovními, tak volnočasovými. Podrobně jsou popsány i nesporné problémy kraje. Mimo jiné je nastíněna i demografická situace, způsobená jednak odsunem většiny původního německého obyvatelstva po roce 1945, tak umělým osídlováním obyvateli bez přirozené vazby k místu bydliště. Zmíněna je též extrémní orientace na těžký průmysl a povrchovou těžbu hnědého uhlí především v letech 1948-1989. Jsou popsány ekologické problémy s tím spojené. Tyto faktory rozvoji turistického ruchu zatím příliš nenahrávali. V závěrečné návrhové části jsou předložena konkrétní řešení a východiska. Jsou uvedeny příklady, které pozitivním způsobem ovlivnili rozvoj turistické atraktivity kraje. Naopak jsou zmíněny i projekty, které bohužel nebyly úspěšné či zůstaly nedotaženy. Dále jsou navržena řešení pro zlepšení prezentace Ústeckého kraje jako celku.

Abstract:

In this diploma thesis, the author reflects on the problem of underutilized tourism potential in the Ústí Region. A qualitative research method was used to verify this theory. Subsequently, the research questionnaires were evaluated using simple statistical methods. In the analytical part of this work, selected data from institutions such as the Czech Statistical Office or publicly available regional office statistics are used. This was mainly used for comparison with other regions. Furthermore, the author is based on his own knowledge gained through frequent trips to this region, both for work and leisure. Undisputed problems of the region are also described in detail. Among other things, the demographic situation is analysed, caused both by the removal of the majority of the original German population after 1945, and by artificial settlement by residents with no natural ties to their place of residence. The extreme orientation towards heavy industry and surface mining of brown coal, especially in the years 1948-1989, is also mentioned. The ecological problems associated with it are described. These factors have not contributed much to the development of tourism. In the final design part, specific solutions and suggestions are presented. There are given examples, that positively influenced the development of the region's tourist attractiveness. On the contrary, projects are also mentioned, which unfortunately were not successful or remained incomplete. Furthermore, solutions are proposed to improve the presentation of the Ústí Region as a whole.
