Accessibility of Online Shops for Users with Visual Impairment

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce testuje a hodnotí přístupnost tří českých nejpopulár- nějších eshopů pro zrakově postižené. Teoretická část popisuje nejčas- tější asistivní technologie zrakově postižených a aktuální standardy a legislativu pro tvoření přístupných stránek. Převážnou část práce tvoří výzkum přístupnosti. Je rozdělen na dvě části - kontrola pomocí automatizovaných nástrojů a simulovaný nákup zrakově postižených. Výsledky tohoto testování byly podrobeny tematické analýze, na zá- kladě které byly vyhotoveny doporučení eshopům. V nich jsou po- psány chyby, které byly během rozhovorů odhaleny, včetně návrhů, jak by mohly být opraveny.

Abstract:

This thesis tests and evaluates the accessibility of the three most popular Czech online shops. The theoretical part gives a rundown of the most used assistive technologies for visually impaired users and current standards and legislation for creating accessible websites. The majority of the work consists of accessibility research, split into two parts. The first describes checks of the shops made by automated tools, and the second is about simulated purchases made by visually impaired users. Finally, the results of the tests underwent thematic analysis, based on which recommendations were made for the stores. These suggestions describe the mistakes identified during the interviews and propose how to fix them.
