The diploma thesis deals with the western popular culture impact on the collapse of Soviet Union. With the concept of cultural diplomacy it analysing international extent of the process. The main part of the thesis analyses the discourse of western culture in soviet society and interprets its impact on the transformation of soviet cultural identity.
