The state of weaving in Jilemnice district in the 19th century

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je objasnit stav tkalcovství, tradičního řemesla Krkonoš a Podkrkonoší, v průběhu 19. století. Oblast zájmu je vymezena hranicemi bývalého soudního okresu Jilemnice a zahrnuje kromě samotného města ještě 23 přilehlých obcí. Ke zpracování textu posloužil zvláště vlastní výzkum a seznámení se s dostupnými archivními materiály, závěry pak byly konfrontovány s vědeckými pracemi, týkajícími se daného tématu. Souvislý výklad je doplněn výsledky statistických metod, prezentovaných také v podobě přehledných grafů v rámci textu a tabulek zařazených mezi přílohy.

Abstract:

The main purpose of this thesis is to clarify the state of weaving, the typical kind of trade in Krkonoše and Podkrkonoší in the 19th century. The place of interest is delimited by the area of Jilemnice district and includes not only the town but also 23 adjacent villages. In the thesis there were used particularly achieve materials which were gained throughout my own research in the field. The established conclusions were compared with some other scientific theses, relevant to the subject of my research. A coherent interpretation of the thesis’ subject is supplemented by well arranged and organized graphs and diagrams, which are the outcome of statistic methods. They’re both submitted in the actual text as well as in the appendix.
