Vplyvy kolonialismu na socio-ekonomický vývoj Jižní Afriky

Abstract:

Tato práce si klade za cíl ukázat dlouhodobé efekty kolonialismu a apartheidu na socioekonomický rozvoj Jižní Afriky. Výzkumný problém této práce spočívá v analýze účinků kolonialismu i apartheidu na složitou socioekonomickou situaci v Jižní Africe, která zahrnuje historický vývoj, komplexní dědictví a současné dopady. Začátek práce představuje úvod do tématu, který stručně vysvětluje rozsah tématu a poskytuje bližší pohled do problematiky. První kapitola je následována přehledem literatury, který zkoumá složitou histórií Jižní Afriky a vysvětluje postupný rozvoj země, aby bylo možné pochopit z čeho vychází současná socioekonomická situace. Dále přehled literatury poskytuje informace o vzniku fenoménu v krajine, jako je xenofobie, která ovlivňuje společnost a ekonomiku země. Použitá výzkumná metodologie spočívala ve statistické a deskriptivní metodě analýzy. Čtvrtá kapitola obsahuje komplexní analýzu, která obsahuje relevantní data vizuálně prezentovaná pomocí tabulek a grafů spolu s podrobným popisem. Kromě toho je prováděna regresní analýza mezi Indexem lidského rozvoje (HDI) a hrubým domácím produktem (HDP) na obyvatele během apartheidu a po apartheidu, aby byl ukázán kvantitativní dopad těchto správních systémů na socioekonomický rozvoj Jihoafrické republiky, což ilustruje, jak změny v ekonomických politikách ovlivnily zlepšení životních podmínek a celkové lidské pohody.Poslední část zahrnuje závěr a doporučení k vybrané problematice. Celkově je hlavním cílem této studie pochopit probíhající složitou situaci socioekonomického rozvoje Jižní Afriky, která vychází zejména ze složité minulosti země.

Abstract:

This work aims to show the long-lasting effects of colonialism and apartheid on the socio-economic development of South Africa. The research problem of this thesis is to analyze the effects of both colonialism and apartheid on the socio-economic situation in South Africa, which derives from the country´s past and long-lasting complex legacies. Firstly, the work presents an introduction to the topic, which briefly explains the scope of the thesis and defines some key terminology. The first chapter is followed by a literature review, which examines the rich history of South Africa, and explains the gradual progression of the country, to understand the current socio-economic situation. Additionally, the literature review gives insight into the emergence of recent phenomena such as xenophobia, which affects the country´s society and economy. The used research methodology was a descriptive statistics method of analysis. Chapter four consists of a comprehensive analysis, showcasing relevant data through selected socio-economic indicators, which are visually represented through charts and graphs along with a detailed description. Chapter five presents a regression analysis conducted between the Human Development Index (HDI) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita during apartheid and post-apartheid to show the quantitative impact of these governance systems on South Africa’s socio-economic development, illustrating how shifts in economic policies have influenced improvements in living standards and overall human well-being after 1994. The last part includes the conclusion and recommendations on the selected topic. Overall, the primary aim of this study is to comprehend the ongoing complex situation of the socio-economic development of South Africa, which stems from its complicated history through selected relevant socio-economic indicators, followed by a detailed description of these indicators.
