Discussions about the Observance of Shabbat in Contemporary Messianic Movements: A Comparison of Argumentation in Messianic Judaism and the Hebrew Roots Movement

Abstract:

Ve 20. století vznikají náboženská hnutí vyznávající Ježíše Krista v židovském mesiánském smyslu jakožto Ješuu ha-Mašiach. Tato hnutí, složená z Židů a Nežidů, jsou obecně charakteristická odklonem od tradičního křesťanského chápání Ježíše a novozákonních spisů, zvláště v otázce teologie náhrady, příklonem k židovské tradici (např. v oblasti svátků či životosprávy), podpoře Státu Izrael a důrazem na hebrejštinu, jazyk Tóry. Tato práce se zaměřuje na dvě hnutí, které představují různé koncepce přístupu v otázce identity tzv. mesiánských věřících: mesiánský judaismus na příkladu First Fruits of Zion a hnutí hebrejských kořenů na příkladu Natsarim. Práce zkoumá jejich postoj k zachovávání Šabatu židovskými i nežidovskými příslušníky obou hnutí. Pramennou základnou této práce je vybraná exegetická a misijní tvorba obou hnutí.

Abstract:

In the 20th century, religious movements professing Jesus Christ emerged in the Jewish messianic sense as Yeshua ha-Mashiach. These movements, composed of Jews and non-Jews, are generally characterized by a deviation from the traditional Christian understanding of Jesus and the New Testament writings, especially with regards to the question of the substitution theology, by leaning towards the Jewish tradition (e.g. holidays, diet), and last by providing support to the State of Israel and emphasis on Hebrew, the language of the Torah. This work focuses on two movements that represent different concepts of the approach to the question of the identity of the so-called Messianic believers: Messianic Judaism on the example of the First Fruits of Zion and the Hebrew Roots movement on the Natsarim. The work examines their attitude to the preservation of Shabbat by Jewish and non-Jewish members of both movements. The source base of this work is selected exegetical and missionary work of both movements.
