Analysis of the corporate culture in the multinational company Pfizer, spol. s.r.o.

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce je analýza firemní kultury nadnárodní farmaceutické firmy s dceřinou pobočkou v České republice. Úvod teoretické části je věnován obecným aspektům a charakteristikám firemní kultury, jejím modelům a determinantům. Následující kapitoly definují firemní identitu a etiku a upozorňují na její důležitost. Pátá kapitola vymezuje téma národní kultury, která je důvodem kulturních rozdílů mezi jednotlivými pobočkami konkrétní společnosti. Navazuje rozbor kulturních standardů České republiky a USA včetně jejich komparace. Empirická část práce charakterizuje principy, cíle a poslání společnosti Pfizer, spol. s.r.o. Česká republika. Analyzuje interní komunikaci a dále faktory a prostředky firemní kultury, které mají vliv na výkonnost společnosti, na etické kodexy i na kariéru zaměstnanců. Praktická část se opírá o studium vnitropodnikových dokumentů, o kvantitativní výzkum orientovaný na zaměstnance společnosti a praktické zkušenosti autorky. Nedílnou součástí je závěrečné hodnocení firemní kultury pomocí SWOT analýzy.

Abstract:

The Subject of my Diploma theses is an analysis of intercompany culture of the international pharmaceutical company which also operates on the local market in Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the theses is focused on the common aspects and characteristics of the intercompany culture itself as well as culture models and determiners. Following chapters define the intercompany identity and ethics principles and highlight its importance and relevancy. Fifth chapter determine the topic of national culture which is the reason of the cultural differences between particular company affiliates in countries around the world. Next topic is the analyses of the cultural standards of Czech Republic and USA including its comparison. Empiric phase of the theses describe the principles, targets and missions of Pfizer, spol. s.r.o. Česká republika. The empiric phase also provides the analysis of internal communication and the aspects and tools of intercompany culture, which directly impact the company productivity and results, and also analyze the ethical codes and employees career path. Practical part of the theses is based on the study of the intercompany documents, also on the quantitative research which is oriented on the employees of the company and practical experiences of the author. Integral part of the theses is final evaluation of the intercompany culture using the SWOT Analyses.
