King Arthur: Traits of a Medieval Hero
Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá životem Krále Artuše, který je vylíčen v Historia Regum Britanniae a v Le Morte D`Arthur. V těchto dílech jsou před Krále Artuše kladeny různé překážky, se kterými se musí vzhledem k tehdejší křesťanské společnosti vypořádat tak, jak mu diktuje rytířství. V rámci vývoje příběhu je čtenář seznámen s ideálem vladaře i s ideálem hrdiny.
Abstract:
This thesis follows the life of King Arthur as depicted in Historia Regum Britanniae and Le Morte D`Arthur. In these works, King Arthur faces various obstacles to which he has to react in a chivalric manner, given he finds himself in a Christian society. As the story develops, the reader is presented with an ideal of a ruler, as well as with an ideal of a hero.
