Human resources management in a multicultural environment

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je věnována problematice řízení lidských zdrojů v multikulturním prostředí. Práce si klade za cíl objasnit pojetí personálního plánování ve firmě s mezinárodním pracovním zastoupením. Vybranou společností pro účely zpracování této diplomové práce je firma Active Assistance, která působí na britském trhu v sociálně zdravotní oblasti, a která zaměstnává pracovníky z různých oblastí celého světa. Teoretická část práce se zabývá procesem personálního plánování, získávání a výběru zaměstnanců a zamýšlí se nad vlivem národní kultury na tyto procesy. V empiricko-analytické části je hlavním cílem podrobně analyzovat a zhodnotit současný stav personálního plánování a zanalyzovat fáze procesu získávání a výběru zaměstnanců. Pozornost je věnována otázce toho, jaká jsou specifika rozmanitosti národních kultur a jak se jejich vliv projevuje při řízení společnosti a zejména jaký mají vliv na její efektivní fungování.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the specifics of human resource management in a multicultural environment. The aim of this thesis is to explain the concept of personnel planning in the company in regards to its international employees. The company chosen for the purposes of this thesis is Active Assistance. It operates in the British market in social and health fields and it employs workers from all around the world. The theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to the process of personnel planning, acquiring and hiring employees. It also gives an insight to the influence of national culture to these procedures. The detailed analysis and summary of the current situation in the field of personnel planning is the main aim of the empirical and analytical part of the thesis. It also brings together the analysis of the whole process of recruiting and hiring employees. Strong attention is paid to the question of what the specifics of the national cultures are and how can they influence the process of company management and its effective functioning.
