This master’s thesis elaborates on the potential role of the gut microbiota in etiopathogenesis of obesity. The theoretical section discusses differences in the composition of major bacteria taxa between lean and obese people. Diplomová práca sa zaoberá problematikou potenciálnej roly črevnej mikrobioty v rámci etiopatogenézy obezity. V teoretickej časti sú diskutované odlišnosti v zložení hlavných taxónov baktérií medzi štíhlymi a obéznymi jedincami.
