Seven deadly sins in Czech and Polish phraseology

Abstract:

Tytuł niniejszej pracy licencjackiej to ?siedem grzechów śmiertelnych w czeskiej i polskiej frazeologii?, celem tej pracy jest spisać frazeologizmy dotyczące poszczególnych grzechów głównych i demonów w zasobie językowym polszczyzny i spróbować odnaleść ich ekwiwalenty lub podobieństwa w języku czeskim. Następnym celem mej pracy jest wytłumaczenie czym są grzechy główne, jak się można przed nimi bronić i jakie podobieństwa ze sobą łączą demony, które były w historii do nich przyłączone. Siedem demonów i grzechy główne mają bogatą etymologię i ich relacje są dużo bardziej skomplikowane niż się wydaje, ich rozwój frazeologiczny w polskim i czeskim języku nam pokaże jak na nas oddziałują w dzisiejszych czasach.

Abstract:

The title of my bachelor thesis is ?seven deadly sins in Polish and Czech phraseology?. The main aim of this work is to put together all phrasemes, which have something to do with certain sins and also demons which occur in Polish vocabulary. I also try to find their equivalents or similarities in Czech language. Next aim of my thesis is to determine what main sins are, how we protect ourselves from them and which resemblances ina history a demon could have. Seven demons and main sins have a rich etymology and their relations are more complicated than it appears. Their phraseological development in Polish and Chech language will show us how they nowadays differ and move further apart.
