Comparison of social development in Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je srovnání sociálního rozvoje v Etiopii, Súdánu a Somálsku, při zohlednění vlivů kolonialismu. Teoretická část popisuje obecné vlivy a dopady kolonialismu, zejména na africký kontinent, následovně blíže specifikuje situaci vybraných zemí. Následně je také probírána otázka kompletní izolace od těchto vlivů. Praktická část se soustředí hlavně na srovnání sociálního rozvoje v Etiopii, Súdánu a Somálsku, za využití několika indikátorů důležitých pro obecné určení úrovně sociálního rozvoje. Data z těchto indikátorů jsou následně analyzována a využita pro srovnání sociálního rozvoje vybraných zemí. Budou tu probírány slabé a silné stránky jednotlivých států. Závěrečná část bakalářské práce bude vypracována na základě vyhodnocení dat z teoretické a praktické části této práce.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compare social development in Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia, taking into account the effects of colonialism. The theoretical part describes the general influences of colonialism, especially on the African continent, then specifies the situation of the selected countries. Subsequently, the question of complete isolation from these influences is also discussed. The practical part focuses mainly on the comparison of social development in Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia, using several indicators which are important for the general determination of the level of social development. Data from these indicators are then analysed and used to compare the social development of selected countries. The strengths and weaknesses of each country will be discussed. The final part of the bachelor thesis will be developed based on the evaluation of data from the theoretical and practical part of this work.
