The editorial policy of Spain in the XX and XXI centuries

Abstract:

Not long ago, the book was exclusively a literary and intellectual matter, however, the continuous growth of large publishing houses and the arrival of mass culture greatly changed the structure of the publishing industry in Spain. This thesis concentrates on the issue of publishing activities, its position on the current book market, and the importance of publishing books of both Spanish and Latin authors. The theoretical part describes the historical development of publishing activities in Spain during the 20th and 21st centuries. The aim of the practical part is to map out the problems faced by independent publishers against large publishing companies that dominate the market. The last part analyses the importance of Spanish publishers when publishing works written by Latin American authors.

Abstract:

Ještě nedávno byla kniha výhradně literární a intelektuální záležitostí, nicméně nepřetržitý růst velkých nakladatelství a příchod masové kultury výrazně mění sktrukturu nakladatelského průmyslu ve Španělsku. Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku nakladatelské činnosti, popisuje její místo na současném knižním trhu, a také význam při publikování děl jak španělských, tak latinskoamerických autorů. Teoretická část líčí historický vývoj nakladatelské činnosti ve Španělsku v průběhu 20. a 21. století. Cílem praktické části je zmapování problémů, se kterými se potýkají nezávislá nakladatelství vůči velkým nakladatelským společnostem, které ovládají trh. Poslední část práce analyzuje důležitost španělských nakladatelství při publikování děl latinskoamerických autorů.
