Colorectal cancer and education of the patient with stoma

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem kolorektálního karcinomu a edukace pacienta se stomií. Kolorektální karcinom je jedním z nejčastějších onkologických onemocnění vyskytujících se v České republice. Cílem bakalářské práce bylo vytvořit a zrealizovat edukační proces u pacienta s nově vyšitou stomií. Teoretická část práce je složena ze dvou hlavních kapitol. První kapitola se věnuje charakteristice onemocnění kolorektálního karcinomu a jeho léčby. Dále se tato kapitola zaměřuje na stomii, péči o ni a na práci stomické sestry. Druhá kapitola se věnuje edukačnímu procesu a edukaci samotné. V praktické části je návrh a následná realizace edukačního procesu u konkrétního pacienta. Součástí práce je vytvořená edukační brožura, která sloužila jako studijní opora. Edukační proces byl rozdělen do čtyř jednotlivých lekcí a po třech měsících proběhla reedukace pacienta během návštěvy stomické poradny. První edukační lekce se věnovala seznámení pacienta se stomií. Druhá edukační lekce byla zaměřena na popis výměny stomického sáčku, na seznámení s rizikem parastomální kýly a součástí byl i praktický nácvik polohování do lůžka. Třetí edukační lekce byla založena na praktické výměně stonického sáčku pacientem. Poslední lekce se věnovala stravování stomika. Veškeré cíle, které byly stanoveny byly splněny. V závěru práce jsou uvedena doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of colorectal cancer and the education of a patient with an ostomy. Colorectal cancer is one of the most common oncological diseases occurring in the Czech Republic. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to create and implement an educational process for a patient with a newly stitched stoma. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of two main chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the characteristics of colorectal cancer and its treatment. Furthermore, this chapter focuses on the ostomy, its care and the work of the ostomy nurse. The second chapter is devoted to the educational process and education itself. The practical part consists of the design and subsequent implementation of the educational process for a specific patient. An educational brochure was created as part of the work, which served as a study support. The educational process was divided into four individual lessons, and after three months, the patient was re-educated during a visit to the ostomy clinic. The first educational lesson was devoted to familiarizing the patient with the stoma. The second educational lesson was focused on describing the replacement of the ostomy bag, on getting to know the risk of parastomal hernia, and included practical training on positioning in bed. The third educational lesson was based on the practical replacement of the stonic bag by the patient. The last lesson was devoted to feeding a stoma. All the goals that were set were met. Recommendations for practice are given at the end of the thesis.
