Abstract:

Diplomová práce je tvořena v zásadě dvěmi částmi – částí praktickou a teoretickou. Praktická část představuje autorův překlad části kapitoly z románu Jacka Kerouaca Na cestě a část teoretická se zaobírá problematikou, kterou autor ve svém překladu musel řešit. Teoretická část je rozdělena do čtyř oddílů, které pojednávají o životě a díle Jacka Kerouaca včetně informací vztahujících se ke knize samotné, o pragmatické a lexikální ekvivalenci, jejichž hlavní oddíly jsou věnovány překladu citoslovcí a deformovaného jazyka. Oddíl poslední se zabývá překladem metafor a přirovnání.

Abstract:

The final thesis consists of two main parts – a practical part and a theoretical part. The Practical part represents the author’s translation of a part of a chapter from Jack Kerouac’s novel On the Road whereas the Theoretical part deals with issues the author encountered during the translation. The Theoretical part is divided into four subparts concerning Jack Kerouac’s life and influence on his work including information about the book, further concerning pragmatic and lexical equivalence whose main sections introduce rendering interjections and standard language deformation and the last subpart explores translating metaphors and similes.
