The role of peer professionals in Czech social services

Abstract:

Diplomová část je rozdělena na teoretickou a výzkumnou část, přičemž pozornost je věnována peer pracovníkům. V teoretické části se zaměřuji na teoretické rámcování peer práce, participaci a zplnomocnění. Dále přichází na řadu vymezení pojmu peer pracovník, role peer pracovníků a v neposlední řadě funkce peer podpory. Poslední část teoretické části této diplomové práce je věnována podmínkám pro zaměstnávání peer pracovníků v českých podmínkách. Ve výzkumné části se zabývám kvalitativním výzkumem. V této části je definován výzkumný problém, cíl výzkumu a hlavní výzkumná otázka. Zakotvená teorie byla zvolena za metodu analýzy dat, jejíž součástí je otevřené, axiální a selektivní kódování. V další části interpretuji získaná data z výzkumu, kdy jsem se snažila lépe porozumět tomu, jaké je uplatnění peer pracovníků v organizacích sociální práce v českých podmínkách.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis consists of a theoretical and practical part and its main topic is peer workers. The first part is focused on the theoretical framing of peer work, their participation, and empowerment. Next, the term 'peer worker', the roles of peer workers and finally the functions of the peer support are explained. The last section of the theoretical part of this thesis describes the conditions of employment of peer workers in the Czech work environment. The practical part contains qualitative research. The topic of the research, the aim, and the main research question are defined. The method chosen for the data analyses is the Ground theory, which contains open, axial and selective coding. The next part is focused on the interpretation of the research data and on a better understanding of the employment possibilities of peer workers in social work organizations in the Czech work environment.
