Abstract:

Hlavním tématem a cílem bakalářské práce je popsat změny postavení žen, které ve vybraných státech severní Afriky přinesly události Arabského jara. První část práce se soustředí na průběh Arabského jara v Tunisku, Egyptě a Maroku, a zároveň je pozornost věnována rolím žen, které byly nedílnou součástí tohoto dění. Druhá část práce zkoumá změny ve třech stanovených oblastech veřejného života, jimiž je politická scéna, vzdělávání a uplatnění na pracovním trhu. V závěru práce je shrnuto, jak se postavení žen v arabských společnostech vyvíjelo a zda bylo Arabské jaro klíčovým momentem pro zlepšení rovnosti a ženských práv v severoafrických zemích.

Abstract:

The main topic and goal of the bachelor´s thesis is to describe the changes in the status of women brought about by the events of the Arab Spring in selected states of North Africa. The first part of the thesis focuses on the course of the Arab Spring in Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco and at the same time attention is paid to the role of women who were an integral part of this action. The second part of the thesis examines changes in three defined areas of public life, namely the political scene, education and employment on the labor market. In the conclusion of the thesis, it is summarized how the status of women in Arab societies developed and whether the Arab Spring was a key moment for improving equality and women´s rights in North African countries.
