Impact of working conditions on work performance of employees in organisation

Abstract:

Neziskové organizace se díky své specifické charakteristice odlišují od ziskových subjektů tím, že její zaměstnanci musí být řádně srozuměni s posláním, vizí a cíli organizace, které udávají celé činnosti směr a nastavují společné hodnoty, normy a očekávané jednání. V případě příspěvkových organizací navíc musí být dbáno na zachování transparentnosti a odpovědnosti především vůči zřizovateli, který od organizace očekává určitý výkon a zároveň k němu nastavuje i pracovní podmínky. Tato práce se zabývá konkrétní příspěvkovou organizací, která se na základě pokynů svého zřizovatele často potýká se změnou pracovních podmínek bez ohledu na potřeby zaměstnanců, což může ovlivnit také očekávaný výkon. Práce je zaměřena na hodnocení jednotlivých aspektů pracovních podmínek, mapování potřeb zaměstnanců k podávání dobrého pracovního výkonu a zjištění, co k tomu zaměstnancům pomáhá nebo brání. Teoretická část odkrývá na základě odborné literatury fungování neziskové organizace a pracovní podmínky vyplývající z její činnosti. Následuje empirická část s kvalitativním výzkumem zahrnujícím rozhovory se zaměstnanci zkoumaného podniku, analýza a interpretace jejich výpovědí. Vzhledem ke zjištěným potřebám zaměstnanců jsou vyvozena jistá doporučení pro vedení a zřizovatele organizace, jejichž realizace by mohla zaměstnancům usnadnit dosahování dobrého pracovního výkonu.

Abstract:

Non-profit organizations differ from profit organizations due to their specific characteristics where the employees must be properly informed of and understand the mission, vision and goals of the organization which indicate the direction of the business and set common values, norms and expected behaviors. In case of contributory organizations in addition it must be cared of maintaining transparency and accountability towards the funder who expects a certain performance from the organization while he sets up working conditions. This diploma thesis deals with a specific contributory organization that due to the instructions of the funder often faces changes in working conditions regardless of the needs of the employees which can impact the expected performance. The thesis focuses on the evaluation of the single aspects of working conditions, mapping of the needs of the employees to perform well at work and finding out what is helping or hindering them to do so. On the basis of professional literature the theoretical part reveals the functioning of a non-profit organization as well as working conditions which result from its activities. It is followed by the empirical part which focuses on qualitative research involving interviews with staff of the researched company, analysis and interpretation of their statements. In view of the needs of the employees that were found out certain recommendations for the management and organization founder whose implementation could facilitate the achievement of good work performance of the employees were made.
