Smoking in Pregnancy and Options for Smoking Cessation

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku kouření v těhotenství a možnosti odvykání. Práce je rozdělená na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zabývá stručným popisem složení cigaret a cigaretového kouře, dále popisuje vliv kouření na organismus těhotné ženy a plodu. V poslední řadě se zaměřuje na problematiku e-cigaret a možností odvykání kouření. Cílem praktické části je prozkoumat problematiku kouření z pohledu žen, které v těhotenství kouřily. Výzkum je realizován technikou polostrukturovaného rozhovoru u žen kouřících v těhotenství. Výzkumné otázky se zaměřují na názory, pocity a zkušenosti žen kouřících v těhotenství, dále se zaměřují na zjištění postojů a reakcí okolí, včetně zdravotnické personálu na fakt, že žena v těhotenství kouří.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis introduces problematics of smoking during pregnancy and possibilities of smoking cessation. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part concentrates on the composition of cigarettes and tobacco smoke. Further, it describes health effects on the mother's and foetus's organism. Lastly, it focuses on problematics of e-cigarettes and possibilities of smoking cessation. The aim of the practical part is to examine the issue of smoking from the perspective of women who smoked during their pregnancy. The practical part uses the qualitative method of semistructured interview. The research questions aim at the opinions, feelings, and experiences of women, who smoked during pregnancy. Another goal is to identify the attitudes and reactions of the social environment, including healthcare professionals, on the fact that women smoke during pregnancy.
